SOGO Adventure Running

This week all grades at Le Roi Daniels had their first Physical Education Residency come in: SOGO Adventure Running!

SOGO is an organization that focuses on teaching students all about running combined with map reading, navigation, games and exposure in parks! Their goal is to spark some excitement about being in nature and how to navigate though different spaces.

They tackled skills such as map reading (North, South, East and West), endurance running, landmarking and problem solving, all while trying to find flags strategically placed in Flint Park.

Enjoy some pictures of the amazing experience!

Welcome to the 2021-2022 Physical Education Blog

This year we have spent most of gym time outside! We have focused on our listening/following instructions, safety, our Terry Fox Track and Soccer!

Grades 3/2s have worked hard at improving their dribbling, passing and we will be focused on shooting starting Monday. They have also learned the game Sideline Soccer and will be learning a new game this week called Six Ball Soccer.

Grades 1s have been focused more on the importance of listening and following instructions and safety during Physical Education. These skills include safe movements, stopping and going, and space. They have practiced Whole Body Listening while I give instructions, finding groups fast and quick simple games like Simon Says and Red Light, Green Light.

Kindergartens have been learning all about space and movement. They are practising listening and following instructions and finding open space. We have also started learning about different Locomotor Movements such as Galloping, Skipping, Leaping, Jumping, Sliding.
